Final construction code hearing set for June

Proposed instructions have been submitted in accordance with established procedures by the Puerto Rico Construction Code Committee so that any interested individuals may make their views known to the relevant code committee and others similarly interested. In furtherance of this purpose, the committee will hold an open technical hearing at the date and place shown below for the purpose of receiving proposed code changes. Those who are interested in submitting code changes are expected to be represented at these hearings. The ICC Codes will be available in electronic form only at the ARPE’S web site. The compilation of code change proposals will be posted on the ARPE website, and CD copies will be distributed to all interested parties in our list.

An orientation seminar was held at CIAPR on March 18, 2010. At this seminar the International Codes to be amended were explained to all participants. This was done in order to understand the coordination among the International Codes which is one of the fundamental principles of the International Codes. Furthermore the established procedure to submit proposed code changes to the 2009 ICC Codes by the due date of May 14, 2010 were explained. All proposed code changes will be published and presented to the Code Committee at the Technical Hearing to be held in June 16th thru the 18th of 2010.
